Leading New York-based home health nursing organization with a 30-year history of excellent patient care selects Citus Health to empower nursing staff with real-time digital communication and documentation tools that streamline internal operations and improve the patient experience.
NEW YORK (PRWEB) JUNE 25, 2019
Citus Health, a digital health solutions provider for the post-acute care industry, announced today that Long Island Health Care, LLC (LIHC), a New York-based nurse owned and operated home health care organization, has selected Citus Health to help streamline care coordination and communication as well as automate manual processes. LIHC will enable its 75+ highly specialized team of home care nurses with access to the Citus Health suite of digital solutions.
Following participation in a pilot of the Citus Health platform with two of Long Island Health Care’s top home infusion provider partners the LIHC team were impressed with the comprehensive capabilities of the Citus solution and chose to also partner with Citus Health. “We quickly saw how Citus would enable LIHC and our nurses in the field to finally go electronic and move away from time-consuming paper charting for nursing notes and manual communication streams like phone, email, and fax,” commented Eileen Barbera, NP, Chief Operations Officer and Director of Patient Care Services for Long Island Health Care.
Specializing in providing home care for critical therapies including home infusion, Long Island Health Care will take advantage of Citus Health’s robust suite of digital health solutions, including the HIPAA-compliant, secure messaging and workflow solutions for real-time direct communications and care coordination that eliminate inefficient phone, email and paper processes, and ensure important clinical information is not missed. LIHC will also use the solution’s nursing notes and tagging capabilities to capture patient information in real-time, and the internal discussions groups that allow messages to be sent to the right person(s) at the right time and for care team members to join and exit the message group(s) as needed.
“As an organization built and run by nurses, we truly understand what it takes to deliver exceptional patient care every day. In working with Melissa Kozak, Citus Health’s CEO, we found that her own home infusion nursing experience was invaluable in creating a solution that truly meets the needs of our nurses and our home infusion partners. Simply put she gets it and the robust functionality of the platform reflects that,” added Barbera. “The communication and nursing documentation features are amazing, and we are thrilled to be rolling this out to our nurses. It would be terrific if Citus Health became the standard for home health care and infusion nursing documentation and communication.”
“The Long Island Health Care team has a long history of providing exceptional patient care and we are honored to be working with such a dedicated group of home care and infusion nurse professionals,” said Melissa Kozak, RN, CRNI, Co-Founder and CEO, Citus Health. “We look forward to helping LIHC achieve their goals of creating efficiencies across their complex communication and documentation processes to improve both the patient experience and referral partner relationships.”
